We all got the hands on cleaning a river!

Our Green Students went to a school nearby river and help cleaning the river banks, this was a physical challenge that everybody jumped right on!

The motto of this project is to get involved to act in the sustainability of water resources, with the mission of creating society's commitment to the preservation of ecosystems. This project is based on the involvement of the Parish Councils, the owners bordering water lines, the Portuguese Environment Agency

The Rehabilitate Section by Section project aims to intervene section by section from a perspective of integrity, resilience and connectivity of aquatic ecosystems, fostering society's awareness of the value of Natural Resources in the lives of citizens. Section by section, the mission is to re-establish the connectivity of water courses and increase resilience to Climate Change.

This project was recognized, with the attribution of the "Municipality of the Year Portugal 2016" award to the Municipality of Santarém by UMCidades, as a project of good environmental practices, with a remarkable impact on the sustainable development of the Territory, focused on public participation and with high potential to be replicated in other municipalities.
